Law School: Getting Your Foot in the Door

American Public University System (APUS) has blazed a new path is gaining acceptance from the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC). This recognition by LSAC allows APUS to be listed in its official registry of nationally accredited institutions of higher education. Overall it will ease the admissions process for prospective law students.

Benefits to APUS students:

  1. Allow on-line registration for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT);
  2. Access to LSAC’s Credential Assembly Service (CAS); and
  3. A designated pre-law advisor for APUS

APUS is reportedly the first online school to achieve this type of recognition by LSAC. The internal liaison for the school will be Constance St. Germain-Driscoll, J.D., Director of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Programs. She is looking forward to being the official pre-law advisor for students in the program looking to proceed to law school.

Legal studies degrees are building a high reputation online, making the seats online just as competitive as the ones in a physical classroom.

If you would like to learn more about the relevance of your online degree, and where some American Public University alumni went for law school, read on to the “Next Step: Law School.”
