Romance on a Budget

I’m sure you’re fully aware that Valentine’s Day is this Thursday by all the subliminal messaging in television commercials and radio spots. Of course those vendors want you to spend the big bucks on their products. However, there are other ways to show you care without breaking the bank!

1. Prepare a meal. This will win major points with your significant other, especially if they’re the one cooking often. They’ll appreciate the “break” and enjoy a thoughtful meal prepared by their loved one. Perk is this that this option can save you money instead of going to an expensive, busy restaurant on Valentine’s Day.

2. Get Crafty! Personally, Pinterest has opened my eyes to many thoughtful gifts that I wish I had thought of myself! The best thing about them is many of the supplies can be found at your local craft store and is a fun project that you’re putting thought into. This can be more meaningful then simply going to a store and picking a present off a shelf. Not familiar with Pinterest? That’s okay! Check out our Pin Board for DIY Valentine’s Day ideas.

3. Spend wisely! If you’re not familiar with sites such as Groupon and Amazon Deals, I recommend it! They offer a great solution for the wallet conscious couples, such as, savings on sending your significant other flowers, new places to try food and even day trips!

It is best to show your support and affection throughout the year because it will demonstrate that you’re actively thinking of the other person’s happiness and not just giving in to a “Hallmark” holiday.

Wishing you and yours a Happy Valentine’s Day!
