Financial Literacy Buzz

financial-literacyTrending now is a term that you may have heard a lot of buzz about lately and that is financial literacy. Financial literacy is simply understanding how to manage your money. Now may be a great time to do a little research and learn more about financial literacy. There are a number of resources available that offer great information, one such resource is from Arcadia University, a private university, who has partnered with NEFE (The National Endowment for Financial Education) to get the word out about financial literacy.

The following link will take you to one of the web pages put together by the university and NEFE, named Cash Course, to promote financial literacy: http://www.cashcourse.org/arcadia. This website offers up tips and ideas on everything from how to set up a budget, to managing your credit, and saving money. Take advantage of the helpful resources that are available such as the Budget Wizard, Financial Calculator, Worksheets and Quizzes.

Get in the know about your financial future; be proactive and learn what you can do to stay on top of your finances. Financial literacy is more than a passing buzz word and something that is not only beneficial to you now as you attend school and you are navigating budgets and loans, but the skills acquired by applying financial literacy tips can help to develop a more secure financial  future.
