She brings over nine years of experience in the realm of writing, researching, and trends in the education field to APUS. Now in charge of cultivating trends in higher education, creating tips for a successful content marketing plan, and online education guidance.

Communications professional J. Thompson is an avid contributor supporting lifelong education. After undergraduate stints at the University of New Mexico and East Carolina, Thompson worked as a contract technical writer with IBM and the U.S. Department of Energy. He offers career insights having served as a marketing leader in software and emergency services, and as a communications leader supporting HR, talent management and learning in Fortune 500 firms. Thompson also followed up his B.A. in English with an M.F.A. from the American Film Institute.

Madeline is a Social Communities Manager at American Public University System, where she engages with students on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media channels. She has more than six years of marketing and customer service experience and has worked for one of the nation’s leading non-profit healthcare organizations and leading BI software providers. Madeline graduated magna cum laude from Shippensburg University with a B.A. in Communications/Journalism and concentration in Broadcast Journalism. She recently graduated with her MBA in Marketing from American Military University.

She has more than three years of social media and marketing experience and enjoys working in the ever-changing field of social media. Megan graduated cum laude from West Virginia University with a B.S. in broadcast news and a minor in communications.
