Survey: In each chapter of your book you need to Survey the title, pictures, graphs, and tables, the introduction, summary and conclusion. This scan gives you an overall graphs of what each chapter in your book is about.
Question: Ask questions as you scan through the book, this will help you in staying focused and makes it easier to remember parts of the text for later.
Read: You’re reading to understand the subject better. Keep the questions in your mind and read to remember them.
Write: Write each of your questions down, then read through them carefully. This gives you a goal to accomplish and gets you prepared to participate in class discussions.
