Ask an Advisor

What would school be without your advisor? Online Learning Tips now has a new section called “Ask an Advisor” which will show you what you’re missing.

In the new section of our blog you’ll get help from an insider’s view of the online classroom (the Student Advising Department at American Public University), real Q&A’s from student to advisor, podcasts and much more.

To start off this new section of the blog we’re introducing their great podcast on keeping yourself organized so you can succeed in the online environment. The advising group states that a lack of organization can impair your ability to succeed in certain areas of school. If you don’t have a special system for getting your work done it can spell disaster for your grades.

Learning in an online environment can be challenging enough, even worse if you don’t know what you’re supposed to be working on. There’s a difference between being neat and organized. It differentiates whether you’re a tidy person or someone who is efficient and effective.

“Don’t put it down, put it away.” Words to live by, as well as setting up a routine so you don’t get drowned in classwork.

Watch “Organization 101” for more advice from the advisors of APU.
