For Japan With Love

While this isn’t directly related to online learning, it is important…  both important to help those in need and to be aware of what’s happening in the world we live in.

A couple of great bloggers started the “For Japan With Love” movement hoping to raise $5,500.  It’s been just a few days and they’ve already raised almost forty thousand dollars… yes. You read that right. $40,000.

The money raised will be donated to Shelter Box USA; a group that helps folks displaced and in need as a result of disasters such as the quake and tsunami in Japan.

Not only are bloggers all over the world reposting this and asking for their readers’ support, they have vowed to remain silent for today, March 18th 2011.  While this isn’t about online learning, it is social… and we all know that that’s what I’m all about.

So join us in supporting Japan.

In support of this movement, I’ll be silent for the remainder of today… both here on the blog as well as on Twitter and Facebook.
