Make a New Class Routine to Combat Boredom and Burnout

Change up your schedule every other week to keep things interesting and fresh for class. While it’s up to your instructor to keep the content and assignments new and engaging, it’s your responsibility to manage your work and interest.

[How to Maximize Your Online Education Experience]

If you’re a list person, write down (or type) everything you do for school on a weekly basis. Look it over, and highlight the times you designate to read, study, research, or respond to discussion posts. While it’s great to lock down times for this, it may turn you into a robot. A simple change would be reading at the library for 2 weeks, and the weeks after that read at home in your office. As for discussion posts, chat with your peers about the assignment once a month for ideas, and then switch to doing it solo or with the help of research with the librarian.

Motivation is something you can control. The issue some students have is they become sedentary in a routine. So, as hard as it may seem to change things around, it’s a good idea to keep the pep in your step.
