As you get older the reward system for good grades dramatically declines. In elementary school you get pizza and ice cream, in high school it’s money for gas, but in college you get to keep your scholarship. If you’re a working adult and an online student the only gold star you may be getting is a pat on the back from yourself, and possibly your instructor. In order to keep your motivation high, and your ego in a raised position, broadcast your grade!
Print out your high grade and post it to the fridge. Or, you can be green and make a chart and give yourself a fun sticker for every high grade you get during your classes. If you have young kids, it’s encouragement to them that mommy or daddy is doing so well in school; and nothing is sweeter than hearing your little one say that you’re super smart!
