APU’s Top 10 for 2015: Our Year in Review

For American Public University, 2015 brought many rewarding student success stories, another accomplished graduating class, the launch of our versatile native app, and new academic programs. Our year in review highlights the top university news of the year, shared through our weekly newsletter, The Insider.

1. New Law to Require Passports for Domestic U.S. Travel

7. Journey From High School Dropout to Successful College Graduate
   Recent APU graduate Mark Torres built on his military experience to land a management position with Walmart. Learn how his Bachelor’s in Business Administration, through our university’s Lifelong Learning Program with Walmart, also helped him accomplish his goal in a story in the Huron Daily Tribune.
8. Writing Guidance from the CIA
   One of the biggest hurdles to mastering intelligence writing is removing the academic writing styles from analysts and retraining them in the intel style. In this post, APUS staff member Leischen Stelter explores the need for writing improvement in your career field as proposed by CIA experts.
9. Show Us Where You Take #APUwithyou
   This fun campaign marked the launch of the university’s mascot site. We asked students to celebrate their mascot and show their school spirit on social media, check out a fun new video, and download free wallpapers for their desktop and mobile devices.
10. U.S. News Rankings: It’s the Company You Keep
    APUS made front-page news in our hometown’s newspaper, Spirit of Jefferson, with its third consecutive, national recognition for its undergraduate programs.
