Virtual Organization Fair Held on November 10

On November 10, 2020, the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs hosted the third annual Virtual Organization Fair. Students and alumni chatted with organization representatives to ask questions and learn about the programs and events hosted throughout the year. As a result, more than 60 new members joined the university organizations.

Campus Leadership Institute Hosts Inaugural Sessions

On November 12 and 13, 2020, campus leaders who serve in various roles across the university’s co-curricular and extracurricular programs attended the inaugural Campus Leadership Institute (CLI). The CLI offered 13 sessions that provided attendees with updates from University Provost Dr. Vernon Smith and leadership training. Topics included goal setting, cultural competency, marketing volunteer experience for a job search, conflict management, building community, communication best practices, and insights from experienced chapter advisors and presidents.

More than 60 campus leaders who serve across the university community joined these sessions to build their skills.

The Importance of Joining a Student Organization

Why is it important to join a student organization? By getting involved, you can:

  • Make connections to other students with shared interests
  • Develop your skills in collaboration, communication, leadership and time management
  • Boost your self-confidence

Current students who are involved in our student organizations have reported building a network of peers and building durable skills.

How to Get Involved in Student Organizations
